Two Dutch me have been arrested for smuggling three types of precursors with a total weight of 16.2 tonnes, the prosecution said. The precursors, which are used as a raw material for the production of synthetic drugs, are imported in Bulgaria by ships through the port of Varna. This happened between January 26 and March 16. False documents were used to pass the consignments through Customs, the message said.
"The first quantity is 4,297 tonnes PMK precursor, the second is 7,525 tons APAA prerequisite. In the third case of smuggling through the Bulgarian border the quantity of APAAN imported precursor was 4,400 tons. The smuggling was done through a preliminary agreement between them. The goods arrived at Varna-West port by ships, "the message said.
The SANS, the customs, the Ministry of Interior and the Supreme Prosecutor's Office worked on the case. The two men were arrested for 72 hours. The Prosecution will ask for their permanent arrest.
