Emerging from a meeting of the Security Council in which the Bulgarian Ambassador to Russia Boyko Kotzev took part, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said that the Bulgarian government would not expel Russian diplomats or technical persons and was looking forward to more proof about the Skripal attack.
At the Security Council representatives of the government and of the president have decided that Bulgaria should at this stage limit itself to full support for Great Britain which has already been declared at the European Council.
According to the Bulgarian prime minister there are currently “excessive tensions” which have not been seen “since the real war”. For this reason Bulgaria which currently is holding the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union should keep the channel for communication the way it did with Turkey in a very tense situation in the Balkans, Boyko Borissov said.
