Public confidence in elections has reached a historic low in Bulgaria
The Union of Democratic Forces has confirmed its support for Grozdan Karadzhov as a presidential candidate of the Reformist Bloc. It is expected that the Executive Council of the Reformist Bloc will meet tomorrow in order to approve Traycho Traykov as a Head-of-State candidate. UDF, however, is expected to propose a postponement of the final decision.
"Grozdan Kardzhov is the authentic right-wing candidate. He, unlike Traycho Traykov, has not participated in other governments," stated the Vice Chairman of the party, Rumen Hristov.
"If the rest of the parties express their support for Traycho Traykov, we will also accept the decision and we will not be a reason for a rift in the Reformist Bloc," added Hristov. The decisions of the Executive Council are taken with a majority of 3/4.
