Sofia will be hosting the A to JazZ Festival between July 01 and 03, an event introducing global and Bulgarian jazz musicians to the audience.
The festival will be held for the sixth year in a row, featuring US funk bass virtuoso Nik West, singer Dianne Reeves, and the quartet of saxophonist and composer Branford Marsalis.
Bulgarian performers this year will include Akaga, Funkallero, Jazztory: The Music of Thad Jones & Mel Lewis, The Smugglers Collective and more.
The event is held under the patronage of the Chairman of Sofia Municipal Council, Mr Elen Gerdjikov.
There is also a specially developed program for the young music fans, named A to JazZ kids. Children will be able to play musical games, to see and touch musical instruments and even play some jazz in the park near the stage.
As part of the festival, which will take place in the South Park II (the part that is immediately next to Spartak swimming pool), there will also be jam sessions in the Studio 5 club, in the building of the National Palace of Culture not far from the park itself.
