Commenting the terrorist attack which took place in Istanbul on Tuesday, Bulgarian ambassador to Turkey, Her Excellency Nadezhda Neynsky, said on Wednesday that four suspects have been detained in connection with the bombing.
Neynski added that investigations have identified the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and Islamic State (IS) as the two possible perpetrators of the attack, with the PKK being more likely.
An explosion of bomb-laden car targeting a police bus killed seven police officers and four civilians and left 36 other injured. The bombing occurred in the central Beyazit district, close to Istanbul University.
Neynsky said that there was still limited information on the bombing, but so far there was no information for any Bulgarian casualties.
Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov similarly said on Tuesday that there is no information on any Bulgarians killed or injured in the bombing.
Two cars bearing Bulgarian licence plates were spotted in the area of the bombing site after the attack. The cars were registered in Sofia and Burgas.
There is no information that any of the owners or the people traveling in these cars were in the area at the time of the bombing.
The car bearing Burgas licence plate has not left Turkey since it entered the country in February, daily Dnevnik informs.
