Protests of Greek farmers led to the temporary closure of two Bulgarian border checkpoints located at the frontier with Greece.

The passage of motor vehicles through the Kulata and Ilinden checkpoints was temporarily suspended at midday on Saturday.

At present, the motor vehicles are being stopped in the town of Blagoevgrad, with the normal passage expected to be restored at 14:00 EET.

Farmers discontent with the government's planned taxation and security fund reforms have been protesting by blocking major thoroughfares across Greece.
