Bulgaria's DPS Open to New Governance Strategies as Coalition Talks Progress
Amidst ongoing negotiations to form a new government, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) has expressed openness to exploring alternative governance arrangements
"It is perfectly normal for us with Mr Kanev to talk not only in the summer, but also in the winter... We talked about the political winter. The winds blowing in this winter and changing certain political realities. Nothing more."
Ex-DPS leader Lyutvi Mestan commenting on his meeting behind closed doors with Radan Kanev, the leader of right-wing DSB party who until recently was one of his fiercest opponents.
Mestan was expelled from the party in December, amid allegations of betraying Bulgaria's national interest hurled by DPS honorary chair Ahmed Dogan.
