US fighter aircraft have been deployed at the Incirlik Air Base in Turkey to help Ankara fight against the Islamic State (IS) group, US envoys to NATO have said.
The deployment, which came from the Aviano Air Base in Italy, includes 300 US military personnel.
Ankara and Washington agreed last month that the Incirlik base will be used by warplanes to attack IS positions.
Over the past year Turkey had been reluctant to take part in the US-led offensive against IS, but an blast in the town of Suruc prompted it to start airstrikes against militant targets in neighboring Syria.
Reports cited by H?rriyet Daily News suggest as many as 30 more jets will arrive to assist in the operations.
