Two people have died during a fire in a residential building located in the very center of Bulgaria’s capital Sofia, as reported by Darik radio.
At approximately 7pm Friday a signal has been received on the emergency number 112 stating that an apartment is burning in a building close to the National Opera and Ballet between the streets Rakovski and Moskovska.
Two rescue teams from the local firefighting service were sent on location. The fire has been put out in mere minutes.
Unfortunately, at the following inspection, two dead bodies of a man and a woman were found on site.
The most probable version is that they were a married couple and got suffocated during the fire. The main causes of the incident still remain unclear.
