The National Theatre "Ivan Vazov" now proves to be not only one of the best entertainments in town but also one of the best places for having a drink. In its basement previously used as sets store-room, the gorgeous building already hosts Art Club No. With a lot of fantasy and inspiration, the theater's management turned the place into ideal venue for fun, artistic experience and celebrity spotting. The old furniture used on-stage is a charming touch to the interior, the elevator's discarded engine has become an integral part of a strikingly fresh decoration and Bulgarian actors' inseparable pals - Bulgarian painters, have hanged their works on the walls. "No" in Bulgarian means "but" or "however." "We want to be different. That is why we chose this name," Tsvetan Petrov, the club's manager says. According to him, this will be the favorite place of Sofia's 25 to 45-year olds with good income. "This is the place where fans could meet the actors after every performance," the theatre's director Plamen Maslarov snaps. Art Club No will also display the latest of renowned painters such as Encho Pironkov, Gredi Assa, Dimitur Kirov, Nikolay Yanakiev, Vulchan Petrov and Andrey Daniel. Music will range from classics and jazz to the latest on Bulgaria's pop scene while actors will stage etudes regularly. Art Club No will be open to the public in January.
