Eurostat Report: Bulgaria Among Few EU States Witnessing Coffee Price Hike in 2024
In March 2024, the annual increase in the consumer price of coffee in the EU decelerated to 1%, a notable slowdown compared to March 2023, when it surged by 13.5%
‘’I would like to call on everyone to be more careful when they are playing with fire, because based on Bulgaria’s stability and the immense instability of the region, we should keep our carpet safe, and not to set it on fire,’’ said Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borisov.
He made the statement following a meeting with European Commissioner on Regional Policy Corina Cretu. The comment of Borisov was made mere days after the ethnic conflict Bulgarian and Roma people in Sofia’s neighborhood Orlandovtsi.
‘’It happens fast and it’s hard to put it out, I am saying this as a firefighter,’’ Borisov added. ‘’It is very easy to talk and to cause an ethnic conflict and I have always warned against that.’’
