President Peter Stoyanov presented the Madara Horseman Order, Class Two with swords to leaving Multinational Peace Force Southeastern Europe /MPFSEE/ Commander Brigadier General Hilmi Akin Zorlou. Outgoing MPFSEE Political Military Steering Committee Chairman Nicholaos Dimadis was also decorated with the Madara Horseman Order Class.General Zorlou and Dimadis were awarded the Bulgarian high honours in recognition of their contribution in the promotion of regional military cooperation. Their successors are taking over at a special ceremony on August 31. The defence ministers of Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Macedonia, Romania and Turkey signed the agreement on the establishment of the multinational peace force in Skopje on September 26, 1998. It was decided to headquarter the MPFSEE in Plovdiv in the first four years. Then the headquarters will move to Constanta in Romania, Edirne in Turkey and Kilkis in Greece.
