Commission for Consumer Protection in Bulgaria has ordered that the ski track Mechi Chal in mountain resort Chepelare should be closed.

The order has been issues after 28-year old Danail Kanchev from Shumen tragically lost his life after he hit an unsafe concrete block located close to the track.

The decision was made at the first sitting of the commission executed on April 2, as reported by its press office.

Closing the ski track from exploitation has been ordered following an official inspection of the Tourism Ministry.

The track will remain closed until guarantees are provided that all safety regulations on site are upheld.
