Weather in Bulgaria: Rain and Clouds Across the Country
As Bulgarians gear up for the day ahead, weather forecasts paint a picture of mixed conditions across the country for May 10
Director of the National palace of Culture Miroslav Borshosh and director Yavor Gurdev presented their newest project Quartet: Dangerous Liasions Until the End of the World, based on the play by Heiner M?ller.
The play will be shown merely 6 times per year and the main parts will be played by Snejina Petrova (Mertoi) and Zahari Baharov (Valmont).
The performance is also the long-kept secret of the website www.7827838.com, as announced by Borshosh.
He added that the project was a great challenge for the whole team, but was well worth it, as it is part of the transformation of the National palace of Culture into a '' a place full of numerous theater spaces - each with its own character, vision and audience.''
Director Yavor Gurdev noted that such a performance in the National Palace's largest hall is the first of its kind and demands time, efforts, funding and last but not least bravery.
''For me the project is extremely special as it provides the opportunity for mixing of genres in real time, due to the specifics of editing technology provided,'' said Gurdev, adding that the experience for the audience will be quite experimental.
The only actors participating in the play - Zahari Baharov and Snejina Petrova will take on more than one role, all the while being connected to special motion capturing devices.
Gurdev also stated that he is extremely happy to be witnessing a theater opening for the first time in 30 years in Bulgaria.
''In my career I have been to a number of theater openings abroad but this is the first time that I am seeing a new theater being opened in Bulgaria and I feel that this should be the national cultural policy in the country,'' he added.
The unique performance can only be seen six times per year on account of all the technical specifications, resources and time needed for its production.
