The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for for the deadly attack at the Bardo Museum in Tunisia’s capital.

23 people were killed in Wednesday’s attack, including 18 foreign tourists, five Tunisians and two gunmen, according to an announcement of Health Minister Said Aidi.

According to the statement issued by the Islamic State group on Thursday, as cited by AP, the attack was a "blessed invasion of one of the dens of infidels and vice in Muslim Tunisia".

The terror group said that the attack had been committed by two gunmen and warned that there would be further attacks.

Meanwhile, authorities in Tunisia informed that nine suspects had been arrested over the attack at the Bardo, with four of them directly connected to the attack and five others who had supported them.
