Earthquake Jolts Spain, No Damage or Casualties Reported
An earthquake rocked Spain’s capital on Monday afternoon but injuries or damage were reported.
According to the US Geological Survey the tremor measured 5.0 on the Richter scale.
It said the quake's epicenter was seven kilometers from the town of Ossa de Montiel. The town is near Albacete in the region of Castille-La Mancha, about a two-hour drive south-east of Madrid.
Spain?s National Institute of Seismology said the earthquake had occurred at a depth of between 10 and 14.8 kilometres. It gave a magnitude of 5.2 for the tremor.
