Today marks the joyous celebration of Easter, one of the most significant holidays in the Orthodox Christian calendar.
Bulgarian Minister of Youth and Sports Krasen Kralev expressed his satisfaction with the preparation and organisation of the forthcoming FIS Alpine Ski World Cup in Bansko.
According, to Kralev the Alpine Ski World Cup is probably the most important event that Bulgaria will be hosting during 2015.
The minister assessed the financial aid provided by the state for the hosting of the competition as being a good investment, since it was directed towards the promotion of Bulgarian tourism.
Kralev said that Bulgaria needs to stabilise its economy before being able to host other major tournaments.
Bansko will host the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup between February 27 and March 1, with the Ladies Super Giant Slalom taking place in the first two days, while the Ladies Alpine Combined will be held on the closing day.
According to estimates, around 200 million people around the world will be watching live the World Cup, which will be broadcasted by 28 televisions directly from Bansko.
Almost 1000 people have been involved in the organisation of the World Cup and the two ski slopes are ready to welcome the best female skiers in the world.
