More than 10,000 people have been injured in an earthquake of 4,4 on Richter's scale in the southern part of China, as announced by Sinhua news agency.

The location was 6 kilometers in the Yunnan province.

There have not been any victims dicovered so far. However, 280 buildings have been destroyed.

Meanwhile, an earthquake with magnitude of 5,9 on Richter's scale hit Southeastern Japan.

According to information of the local meteorology department, the epicenter was in the Pacific Ocean, southeast of the Iwate Prefecture, at a depth of 10 kilometers.

There is no information on injured people and overall damages yet. No warning against tsunami has been issued either.

Several strong earthquakes hit the same region on February 17, causing 10-20 meter waves near the northeastern coast of Japan.
