There water of the Danube River has not been affected by any pollution. The announcement was made by the Bulgarian Ministry of Environment and Waters on Friday.
The cause for the suspicion that the water might be affected came after a transport vehicle with 850 tons of chemical fertilizers on board sank on February 11.
The accident happened around 1 pm in the water between the territories of Romania and Serbia.
During the official inspection by the Regional Laboratory of Montana, no change in the water quality has been detected, but certain areas close to the location of the accident were affected.
The coast administration in Romania has also taken measures in order to insure Bulgarian authorities that the sank vehicle will be removed from the water.
