Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev has called for massive participation in Sunday’s early elections, stressing that the outcome will determine the future of the country in the years ahead.

Speaking after casting a ballot, Plevneliev noted that Bulgarians were unanimous in their demands for jobs and decent pay, as well as open and efficient institutions which guarantee the universal application of rules.

“We want a law enforcement system which guarantees justice. We want modern infrastructure. We want for young people to stay in Bulgaria. We have to realize, however, that we can only achieve these goals together,” Bulgaria’s head of state declared, as cited by the BGNES news agency.

He urged all Bulgarians to exercise the right to vote in order to achieve a democratic and prosperous country which is up to European standards.
