The European Parliament elections will not be decisive for the future of the current Bulgarian government, according to the political analyst Parvan Simeonov.

"The European elections will not resolve Bulgaria's power vacuum. On the contrary, they will most likely pose new questions", Simeonov told the Bulgarian National Radio.

"From today's standpoint, it looks as though any party will be able to claim the election results in its own favor", the analyst added.

Simeonov believes there will be no drastic change in the pre-election debate, only a more intensified mobilization of the electorate. Moves like the no-confidence vote submitted by the GERB party are intended to give the opposition additional campaigning time, rather than a genuine attempt to overthrow the government.
