Most probably, up to sixty-seven percent stake in the seven Bulgarian electricity distribution utilities will be privatised, Energy Minister Milko Kovachev said. The BNP Paribas-led consortium that consults the sale has made a presentation in the ministry on Wednesday. According to Kovachev, the privatisation of the seven utilities will kick off in February next year and will wrap up in October. It is still not known whether the sales will take place consecutively or at one and the same time. The consultant has still to present legal analysis and strategy. The privatisation of the electivity distribution companies aims to attract strategic investors in the sector, preparing the utilities for the liberalization of the market, as well as the higher quality of the services.
