The Head of Bulgaria’s State Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (DKEVR), Angela Toneva has resigned, according to media reports.
Toneva, who was appointed as the regulator’s head in June, is believed to have stepped down as a result of outside pressure on DKEVR to reduce electricity prices starting 2014, reports the daily Capital.
Another possible reason could be the new 20% tax on renewable energy sources, with which she apparently did not agree.
Toneva has not yet commented on these reports.
