Sweden Will Assist Bulgaria To Influence EU Policy On Refugees
The Deputy Chairman of Bulgaria's formerly ruling center-right opposition GERB party, Tsvetan Tsvetanov (R), met Vice President of the European People’s Party, EPP and Swedish Minister for Migration and Asylum Policy Tobias Billstrom (L) in Brussels.
Bulgaria will be supported by Sweden during EU meetings on refugee policy, said Swedish Minister for Migration and Asylum Policy during a meeting with Deputy Chairman of GERB.
The Deputy Chairman of Bulgaria's formerly ruling center-right opposition GERB party, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, has informed Vice President of the European People’s Party, EPP and Swedish Minister for Migration and Asylum Policy Tobias Billstrom about the current refugee crisis in Bulgaria during a meeting in Brussels on Tuesday.
“Refugee influx is a serious problem for Sweden as 36000 asylum seekers, mostly from Syria have entered the country since the beginning of the year”, said the Swedish Minister.
“Two-thirds of the refugees entering Europe are heading towards Sweden and Germany, therefore the Swedish state fully understands the need for common policy on refugees on an European level in order to deal with the refugee crisis and Sweden is ready to assist to Bulgaria in EU meetings on the matter”, said Tobias Billstrom during his meeting with Tsvetan Tsvetanov.
