The illegal assets commission has seized property worth over BGN 500 000 related to notorious Bulgarian mobsters Plamen Galev and Angel Hristov known as "the Galevi brothers."

The Commission froze property owned by Hristinka Angelova, the official accountant of Galev and Hristov, as well as by companies in which she is an associate, according to reports of the BGNES news agency.

Angelova has been a defendant in a trial for money-laundering and participating in an organized crime ring alongside Galev and Hristov since 2012.

The property is located on the territory of the southwestern Bulgarian city of Dupnitsa and the village of Borovets, Kyustendil district.

The pieces of property placed under injunction include a three-storey house, a hardware store in Dupnitsa,  a plot of land of 12 decares plus two buildings (a warehouse and a tractor shed) in the village of Borovets, a Nissan Patrol which has clocked around 300 000 km, and whose market value is estimated at BGN 13 000.

The current location of the two high-profile mobsters remains unknown.

The notorious pair was sentenced to five (Galev) and four (Hristov) years of imprisonment by the Supreme Court of Cassation (VKS) in early May 2012 over racketeering.

A few days later, the two underground bosses vanished and were declared wanted by the local authorities and Interpol, according to reports of Bulgaria's Interior Ministry.

Meanwhile, the two crime bosses were charged with money laundering, worth BGN 35. 5. M.
