Bulgaria will receive in the 2014 – 2020 period a total of EUR 7.128 B from the structural funds of the EU.

This means about EUR 970 per capita, the site profit.bg informs.

Meanwhile, for the same period a Romanian will get EUR 1 016, every citizen of Poland – EUR 1 880; every Hungarian – EUR 2 055, and every Estonian – EUR 2 600, the Bulgarian public radio, BNR, reports.

Even the most recent newcomer, Croatia will get EUR 1 870 per capita.

BNR further reminds that the EU cohesion policy aims at aligning living standards in different Member States, however, the funds are slated not according to the size of the population, but for particular projects, depending on these countries economic growth.
