Sofia Police have revealed the name of the driver of the 35-year-old Bulgarian national who drove his car into the gates of the Turkish Embassy in Sofia at 1.30 pm on Thursday.
Marcho Zhekov turned himself in, telling police officers that he had sought to avenge the murder of his brother in Turkey which had taken place some time ago, according to the BGNES news agency.
The man was arrested and taken to the 1st Regional Police Department in Sofia.
He has a criminal record for inflicting bodily harm.

The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office was notified about the launch of pre-trial proceedings over the incident.
The prosecuting authority informed that Zhekov was being investigated for an offence under Article 2016 of the Penal Code (causing deliberate damage to property belonging to others) and Article 325 of the Penal Code (hooliganism).
