Some 100 citizens of the Czech Republic have been arrested overnight during anti-Roma protests that were held across the country.
The largest rally, of about 600-800 people, was held in the eastern Czech city of Ostrava, where there were clashes between protesters and the police.
Protesters threw stones at law enforcement officers, who used teargas in an attempt to prevent them to break into a Roma neighborhood.
There were smaller rallies in seven other cities, while rights activists protested against them in capital Prague.
Earlier this month Amnesty International had expressed concern regarding the already planned anti-Roma rallies.
The Czech Republic has a Roma minority numbering some 250-300,000 people, out of a population of 10.5 M.
