A commemorative service in honor of the victims of last year’s terror attack in Burgas was held in the Bulgarian Black Sea city on Thursday.

A minute of silence was observed at the ceremony, which marked the first anniversary of the tragic event.

According to Radio Focus, Bulgarian Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski, who attended the event, said he hoped the European Union would include Hezbollah’s military wing in its list of terrorist groups. However, he also said he hoped Bulgaria would preserve its good relations with Lebanon.

Oresharski thanked Bulgaria’s partners for assisting it in the investigation.

Bulgarian Interior Minister Tsvetlin Yovchev said Thursday that “there are clear signs that say Hezbollah is behind the Burgas bombing.”

July 18 marks one year since the bus bombing at the airport of the Black Sea city of Burgas that killed five Israeli tourists, their Bulgarian bus driver and the bomber.

Blacklisting Hezbollah’s military wing as a terrorist group requires a unanimous vote by the 28 EU Member States.
