Mariana Georgieva-Bencheva is a former head of the “Students and post-graduates” Directorate at the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science.
She is a Professor of Syntax at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences’ Bulgarian Language Institute.
Mariana Georgieva-Bencheva has done research on cognitive syntax, philosophy of language and mental grammar.
In the May 2013 general election, she was a candidate for lawmaker endorsed by the liberal Movement for Rights and Freedoms party.
