Bulgaria's prosecuting authority will not demand a cancellation of the results of the May 12 general elections, according to Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov.

Tsatsarov, as cited by Sega daily, was adamant that the prosecuting authority would not ask the Constitutional Court to cancel the May 12 vote.

The Chief Prosecutor was asked to comment on the matter in connection with the investigation of the 350 000 illegally printed ballots discovered during a raid of the prosecuting authority and the State Agency for National Security (DANS) at a printing house in the town of Kostinbrod just hours ahead of Election Day.

"I was pretty explicit about it in my Wednesday statement. The case in Kostinbrod must not be used for these purposes. We have unequivocal proof that these ballots have not left the printing house," Tsatsarov stated.
