2 MPs from Bulgaria's former ruling GERB party who served in the now-dissolved parliament have registered themselves as unemployed in Bulgaria's Labor Bureau.

Velichka Shopova and Zoya Georgieva, former MPs from Bulgaria's second-larges city of Plovdiv, now stand to a benefit of 60% of their former BGN 2,100 salaries, well above the average for Bulgaria, writes the online edition of daily 24 Chasa.

"Yes, we've registered ourselves, but we've done nothing wrong. He have abided by the law," said Shopov for 24 Chasa.

Shopova added that she has 25 years of employment behind her and does not want to stop being serviced by Bulgaria's social benefits system.

Both she and her colleague Georgieva have nominated as GERB candidates for upcoming May 12 early elections, but the party lists have not been ordered yet.
