Volen Siderov has been reelected leader of Bulgaria's far-right nationalist party Ataka on Sunday.

The majority of the delegates of the party's first National Congregation, held on the day Bulgaria celebrates its liberation from Ottoman rule, voted for their all-time leader.

"Ataka is not simply a party; it is a national cause. For this reason we are running at the general election as the most prepared political formation.  We have our platform and our slogans from 2005 already," said Siderov.

The priorities listed by him are: immediate cancellations of the contracts of the three power distributors, CEZ, EVN, and Energo-Pro; reopening of units 5 and 6 of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant, NPP; ASAP construction of a second NPP; eliminating unemployment and petty crime; revoking Bulgaria's support for Turkey's EU Membership, and introducing the study of the true Bulgarian history in schools.

"Without these measures, we are going to become extinct as a country and a nation," Siderov declared.

Ataka also held a protest march in Sofia Sunday, which joined the rally against utility bills monopolies, poverty and the political model of ruling the country.

The unprecedented since 1997 demonstrations led to the resignation of the government of Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, and his ruling Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB.
