13 Bulgarian Regions under Code Orange over Severe Winter

A total of 13 Bulgarian regions have been placed under Code Orange due to severe winter conditions, according to the Bulgarian National Radio.

Heavy snow, strong winds and blizzards are expected in the regions of Kardzhali, Haskovo, Yambol, Sliven, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Targovishte, Razgrad, Dobrich, Silistra, Shumen, Varna and Burgas.

Code orange means intense weather situations with potential damage, injuries and casualties.

A more moderate code yellow has been declared for the regions of Gabrovo and Stara Zagora, where heavy snowfalls expected.

Republican roads are passable under winter conditions.
