Quest for Peace: Hamas Contemplates Truce Amid Ceasefire Talks
Efforts persist to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, with the latter considering a proposed 40-day truce from Israel.
A group of seventeen Bulgarian workers, employed in Israel's town of Netivot, are in danger and in close proximity of the Gaza strip, the spokesperson of Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry, Vessela Cherneva reports.
The Bulgarians are in Netivot under a Bulgarian-Israeli agreement for temporary employment.
Despite periodic rocket fire over the town, the workers have received instructions to continue with their duties and have not been provided with shelter.
They called the Bulgarian Embassy in Tel Aviv, prompting the Ambassador to pay them a visit on Friday, when he established their security was problematic.
Two of the workers have expressed desire to return to Bulgaria immediately and the Ambassador took them with him to Tel Aviv in awaiting travel arrangements.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry and the Civil Defense have been notified and an inspection of the site where the Bulgarians work is pending. The Ambassador has asked to have the workers moved to another site, away from Netivot.
Meanwhile, tensions and violence between Israel and Hamas are escalating.
