Bulgaria Nabs 2 Tonnes of Illegal Fish

A mobile group of Bulgaria's Fisheries Agency have intercepted a Romanian citizen illegally transporting close to 2 tonnes of fish.

The check was conducted by the Executive Agency for Fisheries and Aquacultures at the Danube Bridge linking Ruse and Giurgiu in Romania.

Officers checked a van with a Romanian license plate and discovered the fish shipment, which had a document allowing the transportation of 900 kg of fish.

When officers checked the actual weight of the shipment, it turned out that the quantity amounts to 1,980 kg.

The fish has been seized and the person driving it has been issued a ticket.
