The earthquake occurred at 1:32 pm EET, the European Seismology Center reported.
The epicenter of the tremor was 22 km west of Sofia and 3 km northeast of Pernik, at a depth of 11 km. There is no data about damages.
On May 22, 2012, Pernik and the Bulgarian capital Sofia were rattled by an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8-6.0, which caused serious damages in the former.
