Starting Wednesday, cotton producers in Bulgaria can file applications under the "de minimis"program with the State Fund Agriculture (SFA).

The application period ends on  September 28, 2012, according to a media statement of the SFA.

The state aid under the scheme amounts to BGN 580 per hectare, which is granted for the purchase of seeds, plant protection products and fertilizers for cotton production.

The state aid under "de minimis" cannot exceed the BGN equivalent of EUR 7500 per agricultural producer for a period of three tax years (2010-2012).

The aid is granted to agricultural producers registered under Ordinance #3 from 1999.

The aid is only available to farmers without debts to the SFA, the state budget or the Bulgarian State Land Fund.

More information about the terms and requirements of the aid under "de minimis" is available at the SFA headquarters and on the institution's website.
