A Bulgarian female farmer has alerted the police about some 950 kg of watermelons missing from her field.
Upon arriving, the police found that the watermelons have as a matter of fact been removed by a stranger from the field near Dolni Dabnik, central northern Bulgaria.
After a short investigation, they determined that the perpetrator is a 21-year-old resident of the town of Dolni Dabnik.
The man, who was promptly detained, has a previous criminal record of misdemeanor, assault, theft, and breach of traffic rules.
The close to 1 tonne of watermelons have been recovered and returned to their owner.
