Fatal Skiing Incident in Bansko: Man Collides with Trees on Slope
A man has died while skiing in the Bansko resort located in the Pirin mountains
The 50th anniversary edition of the Bulgarian folkore music Pirin Sings festival kicked off Saturday.
Also Saturday was launched the yearly gathering in the tiny Rhodope Mountains village of Gela, famed for its huge babpipe contests.
Some 3,000 participants have gathered at the traditional location of Pirin Sings, the Predela Pass between tallest Bulgarian mountains Rila and Pirin.
An audience numbering several thousand have come to see and hear the dozens of professional and amateur groups performing traditional Bulgarian folk music and dances.
Both Pirin Sings and the Gela gathering will continue through Sunday.
