Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad has been wounded in Wednesday's terrorist attack against Syria's National Security Service, according to reports.
Information obtained by UK paper the Guardian and Turkish paper Huriyet states that the wounded President is currently in the city of Latakia, while his wife Asma has left for Russia.
In the meanwhile, capital Damascus has for a second day been facing the fiercest fighting for the 16 months since the uprising against Assad first started.
The Wednesday terrorist attack against the headquarters of Syria's National Security Services left top security officials, including Minister of Defense Gen. Dawoud Rajiha and vice-Minister of Defense Gen. Asef Shawkat, and presidential advisor Gen. Hassan Turkmani.
Syrian Minister of Interior Gen. Mohammad Ibrahim al-Shaar was initially also reported killed by the terrorist bombing, but official news sources have stated he is alive although wounded.
