Unexpectedly dismissed CEO of Bulgaria's Kozloduy NPP Alexander Nikolov has stated he has up to now received no significant criticism of his work as CEO, but has no grievances over the move.

Monday Bulgaria's cabinet represented by Minister of Economy and Energy Delyan Dobrev announced that A. Nikolov has been fired and replaced by deputy minister Valentin Nikolov.

"The reshuffle has been necessitated by the need to improve the coordination and the speed of work on extending the life of Units 5 and 6 at the Kozloduy NPP, and the construction of a seventh reactor there," Minister Dobrev explained.

V. Nikolov has been the Deputy Minister in charge of the working group to extend the life of the tow operational 1000 MW units at the Kozloduy NPP.

"I have up to now received no critical comments about the speed of my work from my superiors. But any speed can be bettered," commented Tuesday dismissed CEO Alexander Nikolov, speaking in an interview for bTV.

"If those are the real motives, and changes are intended to make Kozloduy NPP work better, then I am all for them," admitted the former director.

In the interview, he also added that he has no worries whatsoever about any possible checks or investigations into his work as CEO of Kozloduy NPP.
