Bulgarian Customs Seize Massive Antique Coins Dispatch

Bulgarian customs officers prevented close to 1,000 antique coins being smuggled out of the country Saturday.

Upon inspecting the sleeping compartment of a bus servicing a regular line to England, upon its crossing into Serbia at the Kalotina checkpoint near Sofia.

In one of the bag officers inspected they uncovered 877 antique coins and a pair of old earrings, which they seized.

The bag belonged to a 48-year-old Bulgarian citizen, who said he was headed for Austria.

Officers had him issued a ticket for a customs regulation violation.
