Bulgarian forward Dimitar Berbatov will be leaving current team Manchester United during the summer this year.
This was revealed by Berbatov's agent Emil Danchev for Bulgarian TV channel Kanal 3 Sunday.
"Dimitar will be able to look for a new team during the summer and United's management assured us that they will not obstruct us in that," said Danchev.
Berbatov has already had a number of meetings with the team's management, during which the terms for leaving were negotiated, and the management said it will not prevent him to do so, said the agent.
Danchev also clarified that his client will be looking to play in one of Europe's best championships outside England's Premier League.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has already hinted this week that his team might not extend Berbatov's contract beyond the summer.
The Bulgarian striker has being facing a long spate of little play at Manchester, being left on the reserve squad. This has provoked persistent reports that his parting ways with Manchester United is imminent.
Among the teams reported to have interests in the Bulgarian forward are French Paris Saint-Germain, German Bayer Leverkusen, and Russian Anzhi Makhachkala.
The Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) has confirmed that it has entered into an exciting strategic partnership agreement with eSports Bulgaria.
