The latest government reshuffle in which two key Bulgarian Ministers were replaced will yield positive results within days, according to Finance Minister Simeon Djankov.
Health Minister Stefan Konstantinov and Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traicho Traikov were fired late on Thursday. Traikov's former Deputy, Delyan Dobrev, was appointed as a new Economy Minister on Friday, while Desislava Atanasova, an MP with the ruling centrist-right GERB, became the new Health Minister.
Desislava Atanasova will be a "wonderful Health Minister", Djankov stated on Friday, as cited by the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency. He pointed out that she was very well acquainted with both the health sector and the work of the Parliament.
"Positive changes" are to be expected by Economy and Energy Minister Delyan Dobrev, according to Djankov.
The Finance Minister revealed that Dobrev's key focus will remain on the energy sphere.
"We worked very well with Traikov, but sometimes people become tired and changes have to be made," Djankov said, as cited by dnevnik.bg.
