Maya Manolova, an MP from the left-wing Bulgarian Socialist party (BSP) was reprimanded by Parliamentary Chair Tsetska Tsacheva for "insulting" the centrist-right GERB Parliamentary majority.

Om Thursday, legislative amendments were discussed in the Bulgarian Parliament that would abolish any sittings of the Council of Ministers while plenary sittings are taking place.

The amendments, proposed by the oppositional BSP and Movement for Rights and Freedoms, aimed to curb what they perceive as neglect on behalf of the ministers when it comes to attending parliamentary sittings.

"There is no way these majority MPs could support this draft bill, since they have been appointed by the ministers. They possess no will or personal opinion. Their opinion lasts until they phone rings, then they change it," Manolova commented in the Parliament, as cited by the Focus news agency.

GERB's rule is characterized by "in incompetent script and talentless actors," according to the MP.

"Mrs. Manolova, I hereby impose you a disciplinary sanction by way of reprimand because of the way you are communicating with the Parliamentary majority," GERB's Tsetska Tsacheva answered.

The dialogue was witnessed by EU Inter-Institutional Relations Commissioner Maros Sefcovic who wan on a visit to Bulgaria on Thursday.
