The shooting of Italian feature film "Goodnight Sofia" has been completed in Bulgaria's capital, BBM Film announced.
"Goodnight Sofia" was written and directed by Italian filmmaker Leonardo Moro, who worked jointly with screenwriter and director of photography Lorenzo Robusti. The movie was produced by the newborn independent film studio BBM film.
"The movie follows closely a girl during the last night of her trip in a poetic and lonesome Sofia. A double portrait is shown; firstly, a girl who is searching for a place to start all over again and secondly, the Bulgarian capital, a little known place by great movies, full of poetry and inspiration. Through its streets a passionate interior monologue is shown, together with the night sounds and lights," BBM Film said.
The leads in Goodnight Sofia are Italian debutant Lucia Telori and Bulgarian actress Nikolina Yancheva, who was part of the cast of Bulgarian director Kamen Kalev's hit drama Eastern Plays in 2009.
"Working with Nikolina was very inspiring. She is an excellent actresss," Leonardo Moro is quoted as saying.
Lucia Telori plays therestless and constantly moving protagonist, a nameless girl.
"Telori perfectly identifies with the character. She has been great, without her the movie would not exist," said Moro.
BBM Film is to release the Goodnight Sofia movie in 2012.
