There is no evidence that the juvenile defendant was directly involved in the accident, a Belgian court ruled on Tuesday.
"We have lived in Belgium for a while now and this case has bothered us very much, it should not be passed over in silence," the student's compatriots have declared in a letter, as cited by News.bg.

The attack took place at the end of 2009 in the "Porte de Namur" metro station in Brussels. The Belgium police published a videotape from the security camera showing the attack on the Bulgarian.
The victim, who was in Brussels for an internship, was attacked inside the metro station by a group of young people. After severely beating the Bulgarian, the perpetrators threw him over the railing to the train tracks and left. The young man survived due to alert passengers, who were able to pull him out moments before a train arrived at the station.
