Flu Epidemic Declared in Pleven, Bulgaria
The Regional Operations Headquarters in Bulgaria's Pleven region is set to declare a flu epidemic today, reflecting the escalating impact of Influenza A in the area
Unemployed people from northern Bulgaria will be used as labor in archeology excavations and maintenance of the antique settlements Ulpia Eskus and Dimum in the Region of the city of Pleven.
The employment programs have been prepared by the local municipalities of Belene and Gulyantsi, according to the Bulgarian news agency BTA.
The digs at Dimum will provide 40 job openings for unemployed youth under the age of 29. They will also work in parks in the Danube town of Belene and will help the maintenance of local roads.
Another 10 unemployed with find work at the archeology sanctuary near the village of Gigen, which is getting ready for the visit of international experts on history of the Roman Empire.
Similar programs have been adopted across several Pleven Region municipalities – Dolna Mitropoliya, Dolni Dabnik, Iskar, Nikopol, and Cherven Bryag. Plans provide for the hiring of nearly 400 unemployed with a financing of close to BGN 1 M from the National Employment Plan and local budgets.
