Bulgaria and Azerbaijan are set to establish an inter-parliamentary group for friendship, according to Azerbaijani diplomatic sources.

Azerbaijan attaches great importance to inter-parliamentary relations with Bulgaria and is ready to take necessary steps in this direction, diplomatic sources are quotes as saying by the Baku-based news agency Trend.

The Bulgaria-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group will be established to this end, the report said.

Trend reminds that Azerbaijani Ambassador to Bulgaria Emil Karimov discussed this issue with chairwoman of the Bulgarian National Assembly Tsestka Tsacheva in June 2011.

Speaking about the role of parliaments in promoting relations between the two countries, Karimov said these relations positively influence the Azerbaijani-Bulgarian cooperation. He stressed the importance of inter-parliamentary relations and invited Tsacheva to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan.
